Generic Servicing Procedure
1. Discuss with customer - performance, any problems.
2. Manufacturers instructions - check for any specific procedures and safety issues.
3. Site survey - appliance location, compartment clearances, any wentilation requirements, general external condition, flue run and terminal, any filling loop, electrical connections and fuse.
4. Gas tightness (optional).
5. Light boiler - check operation, controls and flame picture and note control settings.
6. Isolate boiler - from gas and electricity.
7. Remove outer casing.
8. Preliminary electrical checks - earth check, short circuit check, polarity check (reconnect electrical supply for polarity check).
9. Visual inspection - check termination, remove inner casing and inspect boiler for signs of spillage, water leaks, case corrosion, holes or distortion, all seals and grommets in good condition, electric cable and PCB for condition or any sign scorching, sight glass condition and all internal connections.
10.Remove combustion chamber cover - and flue hood if necessary, check condition of fan, remove any baffles noting position and condition, check flue connection, condition of draught diverter and baffle and clean as required.
11. Remove burner assembly - note position of any pilot, sensors, electrodes or igniters and remove and slacken as necessary to remove burner and clean as required.
12. Clean and inspect - heat exchanger, clean and refit baffles.
13. Clean combustion chamber - check insulation.
14. Clean and inspect burner assembly - check injectors and clean if necessary with air.
15. Refit burner assembly - refit or tighten any pilot, sensors or electrodes, recheck position and check any seals are in position and tight.
16. Refit combustion chamber cover - and flue hood if necessary.
17. Refit inner case cover - ensure seals are sound and in place.
18. Reconnect gas and electricity.
19. Connect "U" gauge to control valve outlet.
20. Light boiler check broken joints with leak detection fluid, check burner pressure!
21. Carryout flue flow and spillage test - set burner pressure to maxiumum rating and when warm carry out spillage test.
22. Performance test - if required.
23. Re-adjust burner pressure - reset controls to customer requirements.
